This Tuesday is the FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED MOTHER INTO HEAVEN, and we will celebrate a Vigil mass at 4:00pm on Monday and 7:30am on Tuesday. St. Christine’s and Assumption will celebrate a 7PM Mass that day.
This Saturday evening at 7PM we will be holding our SEASIDE GALA at the Daniel Webster House. If for no other reason, please attend as we will have some real steals on Red Sox ticket packages, restaurants, vacation rentals, and a myriad of other items. We have listed most of the items in the bulletin but we will get additional items this week. We have two beautiful oil paintings; one of Brant Rock and the other of Tom Brady, as well as two very nice quilts…all of these were gifts from parishioners! In addition to the bargains to be had, this is a nice night to be with friends, enjoy the sounds of the Fenian Band and DJ Toggy, while also supporting the Missions. The funds will be split between the work being done in the Dominican Republic and our own adult/youth missionary work.
The tickets for the event are $50.00 and can be purchased ahead of time either after Mass or through our website www.stanns.net or on the night of the event at the registration table. This is going to be such a pleasant night, please join us!
While the summer is half over we should continue to appreciate the nice days we share together. It is so nice to see the pews filled with all our summer residents and snow birds. The Marshfield Fair will begins its 150th Season this Friday night, I hope everyone has a chance to attend. I enjoy walking around the fairgrounds and people watching while balancing an ice cream or fried dough. One of my favorite parts of the fair is the derby. My mechanic, Price Automotive on Ferry Street, and one of our advertisers, will be putting ten cars in the derby, and will be closing his shop on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in order that he might get the cars ready for the derby. He invests a lot of time and money into this derby in order that many will enjoy the derby. After the derby he puts the banged up heaps in front of the garage for folks to see. What a great town spirit he has! If you’re looking for a good mechanic with fair pricing, either drop by or call up and make an appointment. Also, I am very pleased to tell everyone that the FAIRVIEW INN has reopened and the food is great! I love the Cuban sandwich and the menu is great. My two favorite times of year at the Fairview are the summer and during Christmas. It’s so nice to have this historic Inn and restaurant back in our lives. Also, please don’t forget longtime advertiser Haddad’s…best seafood in town, or the Jetty…best fish taco in town! We are blessed to have many restaurants in town, but be sure the two that advertise with us! Hope to see you at Sunrise Beach!
