It is LABOR DAY WEEKEND, the final week of summer, let us enjoy the remaining time we have together. After the Vigil Mass, between 5:30 and 6:15pm, we will have Pizza and Soda in the Courtyard. On Sunday we have planned events for each Mass. I hope that everyone will attend these events and are meant as a going away party for our summer residents. (7:30am Mass will consist of cold Pizza and Coffee and Donuts; 10:00am Mass we will have Hoodsies, Slush and Coffee/Donuts; 11:30 Mass we will have Hot Dogs and Beans; 7pm Mass will be hot Pizza and cold Drinks).

Please know that you remain in my prayers and thoughts throughout the year.

Come visit off season! As we say goodbye to summer, we also say goodbye to 4pm Confessions and 5pm Mass. Yes starting next weekend the Vigil Mass returns to 4:00pm with confessions being heard an hour prior.

The second GRAND ANNUAL SOLICITATION will be mailed later this week. So far we have raised $54k in pledges. Thanks!! We have another $36K + to reach the minimum on the roof cost (it’ll cost us between $90-120K). I hope that we could fund the entire amount from the Grand Annual; this will only happen if more folk participate. The ceiling is in poor shape due to the leaks, we have to do this now!

I’d like to finish up with the GROTTO project, and don’t want anyone left out. I’d ask folks to please consider having a tile engraved with a loved ones name or family name. I’ve received commitments for (6) 4”x4” (9) 8” x 8” and (2) 4” x 8” tiles. Please fill out a form and return to the office. If you want to purchase a tile on payments we can make arrangements. Deadline is 9/11/17; I’ll have them on the Grotto by the Columbus Day Weekend. We will hold a special 2nd collection for the Victims of the Hurricane Harvey at each Mass; the proceeds will be distributed through Catholic Relief Services. CHRISTIANS OF THE HOLY LAND will be outside in the Courtyard this weekend selling their wares. If you’re looking for Christmas gift ideas I’m sure you’ll find one on their table.
Have a Happy Labor Day…see you at Sunrise Beach!
