This past week, April 15th through April 20th, St. Ann by the Sea Missionaries traveled to Long Branch, NJ to work with the St. Bernard Project (similar to Habitat for Humanity and Catholic Charities). We worked on houses severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy. I would like to give you a little bit of background information regarding this NJ trip. In particular, one of our missionaries, just traveled on her 3rd mission trip (!) with St Ann by the Sea to Long Branch, NJ (crazy right!). We were also excited to have 3 new teen missionaries join us on this NJ mission trip for the first time. We stayed in Long Branch, NJ at San Alfonso’s Retreat Center, and served in the local area. From Monday through Thursday, we took part in various housing repair projects on the NJ northern shoreline. I thank you for your prayers during our trip, and to the missionaries themselves I thank them for being open to God’s work and message this past week.

I also want to thank everyone who made this mission possible through your spiritual and financial support. Your continual support of the dinner and soup fundraisers makes these opportunities possible.

On a personal note, I can’t tell you how much of a blessing it is to be trusted with such an opportunity to serve brothers and sisters in Christ on such a mission.

I want to thank you, personally from my heart, for this opportunity to serve with the members of the Marshfield community, who chose to take a week out of their busy schedules to serve those in need. These teens gave up their school vacations to help families seek a normal lifestyle in their own home again. Without your support, there would be no opportunity for teens and adults to choose to serve those in need. I will be keeping you in my prayers, and letting the people we serve know that the work we undertake is due to the St. Ann by the Sea community and their generosity to building God’s Kingdom here on Earth.
