I need your help. Can you get word about our upcoming CHRISTMAS CONCERT? It is set for Friday, December 6th at 7:30pm.
This weekend on Saturday, November 23rd, we held our ANNUAL COOKIE WALK. I want to thank everyone who attended and supported the Missionary Work by purchasing a box of cookies. We normally have extra boxes left after the sale, so they will be available to purchase for your Thanksgiving dinner table. The hall was decked out for this Thanksgiving – Christmas Holiday event. I hope you will join us this Sunday after the 7:30am, 10:00am and 11:30am Masses for a COFFEE & DONUT SOCIAL. Come join us in the parish hall and soak up the holiday season and take sometime to socialize with others.
This weekend our 2ND COLLECTION is earmarked for the RETIRED RELIGIOUS SISTERS of the Archdiocese. This is a great way for us to show our appreciation for all they have done for us in our schools and in our hospitals. Thanks for your generous support of our beloved nuns.
Next Sunday is the FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT, which is also the beginning of the new liturgical year. We need to switch over to the NEW MISSALETTES. I was hoping that folks after the 10:00am Mass will help clear out the old missalettes and replace the new ones. I will have a recycle bucket by the bathroom, where folks can drop the old copies. Thanks in advance to those who are able to help us with this task.
This is the critical weekend for us to receive your donation of a turkey and trimmings for mothers heading single families who are assisted by JULIES LEARNING CENTER. We need to bring them to Julie’s House tomorrow. Your help will make a lot of children’s Thanksgiving Day complete! You can drop off your turkey to the rectory 3-season porch.
The MARSHFIELD FOOD PANTRY wants to remind seniors and young families that their hours of operation are Tuesday and Friday from 9:30am-Noon, Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm and every 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:30am-Noon. We are very close to Thanksgiving so any extra help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. God will reward your generous support. I realize the sacrifice that some make choosing items for the food pantry over other purchases, but I hope you can picture the anonymous family dinner table that is a little richer because of your humanity.
This Monday I hope to be able to leave early in the morning for my parent’s house in Arlington. I will be taking time off through Thanksgiving Day to spend time with them.
Next weekend we will put up the JESSE TREE! Our recipients include Julie’s House, Catholic Charities, N.E. Veterans Homeless Shelter and local families. Please take a tag off the tree and return it by the second week of Advent. The quicker we receive the gifts, the better placed we are to sort, prioritize and deliver the gifts. If you know of a family that is in financial stress and needs some help, please send an email to the parish office (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I assure you that I will keep the names anonymous.
Just a reminder folks that the Chapel is open from 7:00am until 5:00pm Monday through Saturday. If you find that the side door is locked please come to the rectory door and we will open it for you. Sometimes the door sticks, while admittedly sometime someone makes a mistake and we forget to unlock that door.
I need your help. Can you get word about our upcoming CHRISTMAS CONCERT? It is set for Friday, December 6th at 7:30. I have included a copy of the program in this week’s bulletin. As you will see it is Pops-centered along with sing-alongs and many old favorite Christmas songs. Tickets are for presale this weekend and next. Hope to see you there. Help support this festive occasion.
