I want to thank those of you who have reserved a month in 2020 to sponsor the wine and candles. It’s a blessing to have this support, as the cost of candles are higher, given that we are required to order candles containing at least 50% beeswax.  The summer and fall months of 2021 are still available for anyone who would like to remember a deceased loved one. Either call the office or send us an email and we will reserve a month.

This is the last weekend for anyone to take and fill a Jesse Tree card. We have them in the Church, on the partitions, on by both side exits. Families are invited to take a card, which have the item requested pinned to the wall, and return it by the third week of December. We are helping the local communities, Julie’s Learning Center, and Catholic Charities in Brockton. What a great way to help others in this Advent Season. Also I’m happy to report we received so many Turkeys for Julie’s Learning Center, that we are all set in that area. I have had a few families send checks to cover the cost of the fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as non-perishable goods. Many of the gifts from the giving tree are designated for clients of Julie’s. Thanks for the help.

On Wednesdays, December 9th, 16th and 23rd, from 6:00-7:00pm we will host THIS LIGHT IS ON FOR YOU. This consists of Confession, and I’ll be doing it a little bit differently. We will hold the Sacrament of Reconciliation outside in front of the Creche (right by the outside Drive-in Mass set up). I’ll put a heater in the side door of the Creche and will sit there and hear Confession.

All you have to do is drive your car up to the creche with the driver’s side toward the creche. I in turn will step out and hear your Confession while you remain in your car. If you have children who you want to go, they can step outside the car and stand in front of the Creche, and I’ll hear a quick Confession. I would ask everyone to wear a mask and we can do a ’quick Confession.’ This is a great way to prepare for Christmas. Examples of sins:

“I haven’t gone to Mass” (remember your obligation ceased temporarily through the Pandemic and remains in force); Teasing, Jealousy, Lust (pornography), adultery, fornication, failing to respect your parents, not honoring the Holy Day, fighting, vanity, vulgar language including taking God’s name in vain, killing, stealing, selfish actions, and an absence of patience with resulting upset and exchange of words.

When you arrive I’ll hear your confession and assign penance,  with an act of contrition, both which can be said in the silence of your car. We will also have Adoration and Benediction, with the Eucharist being exposed on the makeshift Drive-in Mass Altar. Folks can park in the spaces in front of the creche, but obviously leaving room for cars to pass in front of the creche. This would be a great time to sit in your car in front of the Blessed Sacrament and  pray and reflect.

This week we had the front of the parish hall sided wrapped around to the boiler room. It really makes the parish hall nicer in appearance. Also take a look at the new three light lantern which is located directly in the middle front of the hall grounds. It looks great and enhances the appearance of the building.

The Christmas Mass schedule is:

Christmas Eve Vigil Masses:         Outside Drive-In Masses 1:00pm and 3:00pm Inside 4:30pm

Christmas Day Masses:                  Outside Drive-in Mass 8:30am

Inside Masses 7:30am and 10:00am (There will not be an 11:30 or 7:00pm)
